New Castle County, Delaware, is one of the three counties that make up the state of Delaware. It was formed in 1609, making it one of the oldest counties in the United States. The county seat is Wilmington, which is also the largest city in Delaware. It has an excellent school system, plenty of job opportunities, and a wide variety of recreational activities. There are parks and nature preserves, as well as miles of hiking and biking trails. The county also has a number of golf courses, tennis clubs, and other sports facilities.

The county is located just south of Wilmington and is home to a number of affluent suburbs, including Hockessin, Newark, and Pike Creek. New Castle County also has a strong economy, thanks in part to its proximity to Philadelphia.

The districts are: Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, Appoquinimink, Archmere Academy, Brandywine School District, Caravel Academy, the Charter School of Wilmington, Conrad Schools of Science, Delaware Military Academy at Fort DuPont, Dickinson High School (part of the Red Clay Consolidated School District), Glasgow High School (part of the Christina School District), Howard High School of Technology (part of the Red Clay Consolidated School District), Indian River, Lake Forest, Newark Charter, and St. Andrew’s.
